Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) is currently enhancing its reputation on the international world. One strategy to make UNNES better known among the international community is by opening international classes for students from all over the world. This international class is a great means for UNNES to introduce university’s excellence and to align with other international universities.
According to the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Zaenuri SE Msi Akt, this year international students can apply to UNNES starting on February 4th – July 1st 2019 through the International Office website (http://oi.unnes.ac.id/ ).
Furthermore, Prof. Zaenuri said that in terms of international student admissions, UNNES will conduct a selection through two stages, namely the grade verification stage and interview which will be conducted on 8th – 9th of July 2019. In addition, UNNES also facilitates international classes for Indonesian students, with a different registration period from international foreign classes. Registration of the international classes for Indonesian students starts on May 13th – July 13th, 2019 through Seleksi Mandiri Unnes Reguler (http://daftar.unnes.ac.id/ ). After that, prospective students will conduct the written examination on July 20th, 2019 and skills examinations on July 21st, 2019. Thirteen study programs offered are undergraduate study programs that have been accredited by BANPT (Decree of National Accreditation for Higher Education). The curriculum that will be taught to students has been prepared in accordance with the international curriculum. The study programs offered are : Public Health, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics Education, Law, Javanese Literature, Geography, Development Economics, Early Childhood Education, Accounting Economics Education, Cooperative Economic Education, and Office Administration Economic Education, Physical Education, and English Language Education.
By the presence of international classes, it is expected that UNNES can align with world-class universities and produce internationally qualified students who are able to compete with students at the global level.
